Microsoft Access is a rapid-application-development tool for the creation and maintenance of database programs. It is part of many versions of the Microsoft Office suite.

Access is acceptable for small, stand-alone database programs, but its real strength is as a GUI front-end to Microsoft SQL server or any ODBC data source.
